Saturday Party – Swing’n’Blues

The Saturday Party takes place at the Degginger and is dedicated to Swing’n’Blues!
According to this motto, two remarkable bands play their live music like in a Juke Joint: the busking Andis Bluesorchester, with their Pre-War Blues, Ragtime and String Band sound, and Ohne Franz, with their nice repertoire of Swing and Jazz tunes. DJ Swingy the Kid and DJ Swingheini also take care that danceable music never stops!
Prepare also for a Showcase of our lovely Teachers and a Mix’n’Match Competition with great prizes!
Let’s Swing’n’Blues all the night long!

Time: Saturday, 01.06., 20:00 – 02:00

Workshop and Taster Classes

We do not want to bother you with standard workshop topics, so we arranged again some nice classes with various music-related topics and fun stuff for you, to enjoy your Swingin‘ R experience even more!

Musicality Taster Class (All Levels)

This Taster Class led by DJ Swingy the Kid is about how Jazz, Swing, and Blues music  has changed through the years and how the styles of music and dance have evolved accordingly. With this class, you will get some more ideas how to adapt your personal style of dancing to the style of music being played – listen, learn, and dance!
The Taster Class is held at the Friday Party and is included in the party price.

Level: All Levels
Time: Friday, 31.05., 20:00 – 21:00
Venue: Tiki Beat Bar & Club

Footwork Variations (Beg/Int+)

Sara and William show you how to add even more fun in your personal dancing by showing you tips and tricks how to dance with the right flow and coolness according to the music, and adding fun and easy stuff to your social dancing repertoire.

Level: Beginner/Intermediate and up
Time: Saturday, 01.06., 10:30 – 13:00
Venue: Sports Hall

Fast’n’Slow Feet (Int+)

Most of the time in our Lindy life, we dance our figures, footwork patterns, spins, turns, and so on to music with moderate tempo. But in this workshop, Sara and William improve your technical skills and work with the two kinds of songs which are usually the most difficult to dance to: The really fast and really slow songs…

Level: Intermediate and up
Time: Saturday, 01.06., 14:00 – 16:30
Venue: Sports Hall

Even More Activities

Craft Beer Festival

The Regensburg Craft Beer Festival takes place at the Neupfarrplatz from 29.05. – 31.05.2019. The festival offers the opportunity to get introduced to more than 50 different Craft Beer styles and to learn about beer as cultural asset and heritage.
Live bands and food trucks complete the festival feeling – often very danceable..

Walhalla Chill-Out Dancing

It is one of the most classical tourist activities around Regensburg: A tour to the Walhalla on Sunday!
A trip by boat is really nice, however, you have to climb quite a lot of stairs to finally get to the Walhalla. You can also go there by car and skip most of the stairs. However, once upstairs you can enjoy the fantastic view – and in case someone brings music, why not dance? Or what about a group picture with this great scenery?

Regensburg Marathon

What the heck? Why should you run 42.195 km if you can dance that distance?
No offense, but true..
Only to notice that the Regensburg Marathon is actually on Sunday morning and the course is led directly through the old town near the Degginger. Feel free to dance some Solo Jazz or Swing Out somewhere nearby that course on your way to the Swing Brunch. Or maybe a spontaneous Flashmob?
